Time to go:
The best time to visit Gabon is during the dry season (May to September). The rest of the year is extremely hot and humid with heavy rain all day and night.

• The biggest celebration of the year is the three-day Independence Day celebration in August (Independence Day is August 16), with festivities more evident in the towns and villages than in the capital.
